Monday Jan 14 Holy smokeballs, it's halfway through January of 2008! Damn I've been busy. Blah blah blah, on to the important stuff. I added a new drawing. It's December again...2008 here I come. So I just gave this homepage a slight facelift. The layout on the right side has changed a bit. Why the hell not? .................................... Monday November 12 Posted two new works; "Kitty Smoke" and "Scale". "Kitty Smoke" was for some friends as a house warming present. Sunday November 4 Just added a new illustration to the gallery. I've decided to start participating in IllustrationFriday.com's weekly topics. And if you don't know what that is....every Friday they announce a new topic. Anyone can illustrate something for that topic and submit their entry. An illustration is randomly chosen as "pick of the week". It's a good way to get your art out there and a very good way to motivate yourself to not only create more art but to focus on a particular topic. I've found that is sometimes the hardest part. .................................... Saturday November 3 Well, I finished the first stage of the "13 days of horror" project. The pencil roughs are done, they are yet to be inked. But I'm working on that. I also just posted a NEW CONTEST. Provide a funny caption for the picture provided. Wednesday Oct 31 Just posted the THIRTEENTH, and last drawing from a series I've titled "13 Days of Horror". The series is my tribute to horror and the macabre. I'm going to create one work of art every day from October 19th through the 31st. Keep checking back. Day one is not posted as it's not finished. It's a more complex piece that will require a bit more time. But Day 02 is here. (Always) .................................... Sunday Oct 14 Just added a new painting: SkullSnakes, see picture at right. Oh yeah, and I just discovered this great website where you can watch talented artists draw some crazy stuff via sped up streaming video. .................................... Saturday Sept 8 D.O.G. I saw the new Halloween movie. Not too bad. The kid's a bit creepy, which certainly helps. I suggest going to see a late show and then walking home by yourself in the dark.... Someday I'll get more art posted on here. I've just been really busy with client projects. Which reminds me...you can now watch the bicycle documentary that I did the animation in for Paul Hake Productions.. It's posted on the website here: We also recently did a marketing campaign and designed an interactive web page where you can drag different clothes onto Hakes' body and then print the results when you're finished. It turned out pretty good. Thanks to T. Vo for doing the programming. .................................... Tuesday July 10 Well you should know by now that the Simpson's movie premiere is going to be in Springfield, VT. But what you probably didn't know is that Springfield Vermont is the town I was BORN in......which actually explains a few things, heh heh. .................................... Monday May 21 I just added 2 more drawings to the "Children of the Soft Machine" series. You really need to check them out if you haven't yet. I even put in a little write up for each drawing so you have an idea of why each drawing ended up as it did, or why......anyway, take a look, it's worth it! Here's my current new favorite for the moment. And thanks to all who showed up last Monday for the screening of "Enjoy the Ride in the Connecticut River Valley" which contained some cool animation created by yours truly. I'm going to be adding the animation to my site pretty soon. Saturday, May 12 Ok, I added a couple more drawings to the recently updated "Children of the Soft Machine" series.....ALSO, this MONDAY you can see some of my animation on the big screen! I did some animation for the documentary on bicycling in the Connecticut River Valley. The 30 minute film is called "Enjoy the Ride in the Connecticut River Valley" and contains several short animated sequences by yours truly! It's FREE ADMISSION. Wednesday, May 8 Ok so I've finally added some more art to the gallery. More of the series I'm still working on entitled "Children of the Soft Machine". It's a collection of figure studies from open studio drawing sessions that I try to get to at least once a week. As you may have guessed they are not "traditional" style figure drawings. I enjoy using the poses of the models as a base for softer, more liquid poses created using my pencils and paper. Bending, pouring the flesh, reshaping...this is what I'm good at. Think anatomy class on acid and you've got something similar to these new works. Check them out. Oh yeah, they're for sale too. .................................... Sunday, March 11 So all of the short sleeve t-shirts are $5 each. That's cheap. That's really cheap. Warm weather will be here soon. You need short sleeve shirts. Stock up. .................................... Thursday, Feb 22 Ok, so I just had a birthday. Happy Birthday to me. It was ok. Family and a great friend made it cool. And then I was digging around for my darn Adobe Elements cd cuz my pdf creation has been put to a halt for some reason.....and I came across this postcard that I had written on the back of. I forgot I had written it, but I really like what it says. What else?.....I ordered a Wacom 6x11 tablet but the damn thing's on backorder....c'mon, yer killin' me here... I'm doing alot of work with Paul Hake Productions lately. Very cool stuff. In between the madness of projects we're redesigning his site ( the new site is not live yet but the old one is still goin' ). It's gonna be friggin' sweeeet. I did a bunch of illustrations for the backgrounds. Very nice.....anyway...enter my contest or look at some art!
